Adaptable to most Data Acquisition Applications

The USBPGF-S1 is a stand-alone USB controllable module consisting of a high-quality instrumentation amplifier, a low pass filter, and optional AC coupling. It is compatible with all popular A/D converter devices. The USBPGF-S1 is powered by 9 to 12VDC so it can be directly connected to a regulated DC voltage source. For use with unregulated DC power use the optional USBPxx-S1/DCR DC voltage regulator for battery or solar DC power sources from 9 to 30VDC. Alternatively, the included 115-220VAC adapter can be utilized to accomodate wall power anywhere in the world. When programmed from the USB port, the USBPGF-S1 will remember all of the programmed properties between power cycles. Program once and operate as a stand-alone signal conditioner without having to reprogram for every use. This is perfect for turn-key applications. It's easy to connect the USBPGF-S1 into the data collection system. Input and output signals can be routed through BNC connection or by using the detachable screw terminal connectors.


Multi-channel Convenience

Support Software

Alligator Technologies has developed SystemViewUSBPxx, a Windows based dialog interface to the USBPGF-S1. Just plug any number of USBPGF-S1 units into the USB of the host computer and each will be individually recognized. The operating parameters can be set or changed individually for each attached USBPGF-S1 or for all the attached units, collectively, with just a couple clicks of the mouse. Set the corner frequency at any value, select the amplifier gain, or even give the USBPGF-S1 a unique name.


Menu-Driven Software

The USBPGF-S1 is supplied with SystemViewUSBPxx for Windows for control of the gain, clock source, corner frequency, and AC coupling.  Pictured is the software control dialog for controlling one or all USBPGF-S1 units connected to the host computer.  The control of the USBPGF-S1 is straight forward and intuitive.  To obtain the gain, engage the AC couple high pass filter, or clock source use the pull down lists.  To set the corner frequency, type any corner frequency within the bandwidth limits of the filter into the edit field.  Simply click the Program button to send the parameters through the USB to the USBPGF-S1.  In systems where more than one USBPGF-S1 is connected each unit will be represented by an individual channel dialog window cascade from the upper left of the screen. The contents of the dialog will reflect the current configuration of each unit.

SDK for Custom Software Applications

The SystemViewUSBPxx is built on top of a COM(ActiveX) object that can be dropped into any custom application. The COM can be interfaced with LabView, MatLab, C++, VisualBASIC, C# or any other high level language to directly control all USBPxx-S1 devices. We provide example application software written in C++ that describes this interface in great detail. The SDK is included with the purchase of any USBPxx product.
